Ring City is a Nike Elite organization, one of only 20 such sponsored programs in the country. In 2009, our inaugural year, Ring City’s U16 team was invited to the Nike Nationals and Nike officially named Ring City a “Nike Elite” program in 2010.
Ring City is recognized nationally as one of the premier girls basketball programs.
- Our 2009 Nike Elite team included 3 girls ranked in the ESPN top 100 nationally.
- Our 2010 Nike Elite team included 3 girls ranked in the ESPN top 100 nationally.
There are approximately 1100 Division 1 college basketball full athletic scholarships offered every year for girls. During the past three years 22 of our girls were awarded Division 1 scholarships and we expect that all of the girls in our program will eventually receive an Athletic scholarship.
We have had our girls go on to some of the most prestigious conferences including the Big East, A10 and the Ivy League. Go to a Big East Girls basketball game next season and chances are one of our girls will be playing. Our girls are currently or will be soon playing at Georgetown, Seton Hall, Pitt, DePaul and Rutgers. See In the News to read about our girls.
Ring City’s AAU program currently begins with 7th and 8th graders (U13) and culminates with our (U17) Nike Elite team. While the teams play in the Spring and Summer, Ring City holds camps during the summer and provides basketball skills training throughout the year.
We identify and accept into our program players with the potential and talent to develop into elite players. They must also possess the school grades to qualify academically. We train them and enable them to compete against the best comparable talent in the nation. We monitor their school progress to ensure they are progressing academically.
Our program is headquartered in Northern New Jersey and we draw our players from the Metropolitan NY/NJ area. Practices are held in Northern New Jersey locations convenient to New York City and New Jersey.
